JOB DESCRIPTION

Carpenter/Site Manager 

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Upon accepting a new project from Sales, the Site Manager takes complete ownership of the project and it’s profitability, as well as managing and directing all parties that come on to the site. The Site Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment. Daily communication with sales and the customer is imperative regarding the progress of the job, changes in timelines, pending change orders, manpower requirements, scheduling subcontractors, job cost, and safety.

APPEARANCE:
Suitable work clothes for the job sites may differ, but a clean, professional, neat appearance is a must.

DEPENDABLE TRANSPORTATION:
You are required to have transportation to and from the job sites. A current Washington State driver’s license is required. Acceptable vehicles will be: Pickup trucks with canopies or vans.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • OSHA approved First Aid and CPR certification (Employer provided)
  • Knowledge and demonstration of company safety policies and practices
  • Ability to read and understand blueprint drawings and written specifications proficiently
  • Create weekly goal sheets and schedules based on job cost
  • Ability to handle the most complicated and highest dollar projects
  • Ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve project.
  • Ability to order, organize, manage and control materials, subcontractors and equipment within budget
  • Demonstrate superior carpentry abilities for all types of projects.
  • Ability to train and motivate, guide and direct Chermak employees
  • Demonstrate excellent customer communication and negotiations
  • Ability to discuss change orders in partnership with Sales
  • Control job costs and project in partnership with Sales
  • Responsible for supervising crews and subs
  • Accurate daily journal/record keeping (written or electronic submission)
  • Strong professional and leadership image
  • Ability to operate basic computer and/or smart phone technology, i.e. photo attachments, text, email & scan

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Have knowledge and understanding of safety policies and practices. Demonstrate leadership in safety practices, effective monitoring and consistent record keeping. Lead on site weekly safety meetings with all parties (Chermak labor and subcontractors) working on the jobsite.
  • Demonstrate the ability to organize laborers, support carpenters and subcontractors. Monitor their work, making certain they are working safely and effectively. Monitor manpower requirements for job, and notify Sales if changes are necessary.
  • Perform all carpentry tasks to acceptable industry and company standards. These tasks will include both rough and finish carpentry skills. Demonstrate excellent craftsmanship and monitor all parties to maintain that standard excellence for each project.
  • Schedule company equipment and rental tools as necessary to complete the work.
  • Maintain good customer service and customer relations.
  • Monitor building department inspections and call for all necessary inspections.
  • Other necessary tasks as may arise but are not limited to the above job description.

TOOL REQUIREMENTS:
You will be required to have your own tools. A full list of required tools is available upon request.

COMPENSATION:
Hourly rate $25-$42 DOE + Supplemental fuel reimbursement for qualifying employees

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sales/Project Manager

The Sales/Project Manager is responsible for estimating remodeling projects, writing full, detailed job specifications. Identifying all the labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors specific to the project. This individual is responsible for the profitability of the project, subcontractors, maintaining customer satisfaction & quality control throughout the project.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
• Estimate and bid residential remodeling projects.
• Write full written specifications detailing the scope of work for the client & Site Manager to use as a guide for building the project.
• Responsible for maintaining communication with the customer, fielding questions, problem solving, presenting change orders, maintaining profitable job costing, collecting customer billings. This will be accomplished by telephone, job site visits, or through written messages.
• Must communicate with the Site Manager as much as is needed to review customer satisfaction, potential change orders, quality control, timeline, job costs, scheduling, efficiency of project, subcontractors, equipment, and labor needs.
• Required to attend the weekly sales and production meeting to review the status of all potential new sales leads and current jobs in production
• Review safety, quality control, timeline, job costs (with carpenter), schedule of work for the next week.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Construction Management, AA Degree desired or equivalent hands on experience
• Sales experience a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft applications, especially Excel, Word, Outlook and basic understanding of Microsoft Project
• Understands, enjoys and is interested in construction practices, means and methods.
• Extremely organized and detail oriented; Ability to plan ahead, anticipating needs of the project.
• Demonstrates advanced communication skills, both written and verbal
• Understands and assists in managing construction schedules with-in budgets.
• Ability to work independently while in a team environment
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced atmosphere
• Ability to be flexible and comfortable interacting with all personalities
• Ability to problem solve

COMPENSATION:
Salary rate $60K-$80K DOE + Commission

JOB DESCRIPTION

Painter/Drywaller

APPEARANCE:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to work, reliable, prompt
  • Respectable and professional demeanor toward company, co-workers, clients & property
  • Willingness to learn and follow direction
  • Read tape measure & level
  • Use variety of power tools safely and effectively
  • Ability to complete a variety of drywall and painting tasks without supervision
  • Knowledgeable with equipment used in hanging, taping and applying texture, paint and stains.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Arrive promptly at specified job site in dependable transportation, with all tools needed ready to begin work.
  • Assist all Chermak personnel on the job site as directed by the Project Developer and/or the Site Manager.
  • Fasten drywall panels to the inside framework of building.
  • Prepare panels for painting by taping or finishing joints. Prepare panels by sawing, drilling, or cutting holes in panels for electrical outlets, air-conditioning units, and plumbing.
  • Smooth out imperfections. Ability to blend/match texture as close as possible.
  • Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting. Clean walls to ensure proper coating adherence.
  • Apply paint to surfaces including walls, ceiling, doors, and millwork. Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes. Includes roll, brush and spray applications.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area reducing the risk of workplace injury.
  • Source color match of existing paint and/or stain colors.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crawl, reach overhead, kneel, push, pull, and lift 50+ pounds, when needed.
  • Handle customers’ questions and concerns with efficiency ensuring satisfaction.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of safety policies and practices. Demonstrate leadership in safety practices, effective monitoring and consistent record keeping.

COMPENSATION:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of Zoho Database or the ability to easily learn computer software
  • Telephone competence and etiquette to handle both incoming and outgoing calls
  • Direct, clear communication with clients, co-workers, sub-contractors, etc.
  • Proficiency in computer skills in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • A strong ability to produce files in Publisher and Adobe
  • Experienced in some SEO management
  • Versatility in the ability to accomplish a variety of duties

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Advertising, trade show and event participation
  • Creating and maintaining brochures and publicity materials to support the company’s identity (branding) program, including signage, stationery, business cards, literature, etc.
  • Home Shows/Tours/Pres releases
  • Photos (books, boards, scheduling photographer, staging)
  • Write and manage all content for company website, blog, press releases, and social media sites
  • Plan and produce in-house graphic design for multiple marketing channels, e.g. brochures, flyers, event marketing, and special media posts.
  • Greeting customers at the front door, being conversational while directing them to their contact person
  • Take new lead calls and communicate Company system to client; track all leads in ZoHo, prioritize leads for distribution to Sales.
