Change Your Home, Not Your Address

Home additions and remodels can be a great way to increase living space and improve your quality of life! If your home is not meeting your current needs, we can help. Perhaps you would like a more open floor plan, a more efficient kitchen or a beautiful new master bedroom and bath. Maybe you need a mother-in-law suite, an apartment over the garage, or want to turn that dingy basement into a media room.

We get to know you well before we begin the remodeling process. A Project Developer is introduced and it is their job to listen carefully, learn your priorities and define the budget. New concepts, materials and options are presented.

Our staff of specialists can help you with design, plans, engineering, permitting and financing. Your Project Developer will write specifications detailing your project, present you with a firm bid price and provide you with a realistic schedule. Upon contract approval, a Master Carpenter will be chosen to team with the Project Developer. Together they will see your project through to happy completion.

Whole House Remodel – Edmonds

This single-level home was built in 1959. The home owner wanted to open up the main living and dining areas as well as re-purpose several of the rooms. Sunken living room and entryway were raised to the same level as the kitchen and dining area. Bearing wall and fireplace were removed to create more continuous space. One bedroom would became an office with double glass French doors that open on to the open living room and kitchen.  A second bedroom became a master with a slider door opening onto a deck.  The last bedroom  become an expansive walk in closet and much of the new master bathroom.

New Entry and Chef’s Kitchen – Edmonds

Chermak Construction  first remodeled this home in 1996 by renovating the kitchen and adding a second story. In this remodel an existing courtyard between the house and the garage was converted into more than 600 sq. ft. of new living space which included an elegant entryway as well as a new bedroom, laundry room and a custom wine room. The existing kitchen area was expanded on two sides and engineered scissor trusses were used to raise the ceiling by 15”. Finishes included the use of Supreme granite counter tops, cherry cabinets and custom finished red oak hardwood floors. The addition of an informal seating area makes this a favorite gathering area for family and friends.

Accessory Dwelling Unit – Edmonds

This remodel was designed to provide self-contained living space for adult children to live next to parents to care for them in the future. The unit was added to the side of the existing garage and family room with its own entry door into the main house. It includes an entry, living room, kitchen/dining area, full bath and bedroom.

Traditional Modern – Seattle

This stately Seward Park home, a complete tear down, remodel is full of gorgeous glass, wood and metal finishes. They include, Italian Plaster at the exterior entry, an open foyer with ridge skylights, slate entry, floor to ceiling fireplace wall, white quarter sawn oak flooring throughout, slumped glass stair walls, and a master bedroom suite with a private deck and outside fireplace sculpture.

Southern Coastal Beach Home – Bellevue

A covered bridge/entry provides access to the spacious foyer, leading to an open living room and southern style covered porch. The lower level includes a kitchen/dining room, family room, updated guest bathroom, walk-in pantry, and another covered porch that transverses the kitchen and dining room areas. This whole house home remodel is packed with details our carpenters are quite proud of.

Split-Level Home Remodel – Seattle

We made our home owners’ dollars stretch, but spared no imagination when planning the design of this award winning home remodel. We changed up the 1947 Seattle Bungalow’s interior and exterior design with fresh Northwest Contemporary styling, remodeled the kitchen, master suite, and provided a better interior-entryway transition.

Traditional Spanish Mediterranean – Seattle

This 1930s home, with its majestic view of Seattle’s Elliot Bay, was beyond ready for a comprehensive home remodel. The couple requested a master suite and wanted to make better use of lot space with improved deck designs. Throughout the three level home, a Spanish-Mediterranean aesthetic theme was expanded upon to make this home a stunning award winner!

Northwest Contemporary – Bellevue

Our primary focus, for this whole house remodel in Bellevue, was to create practical living spaces for our clients’ growing multigenerational family. Maximizing a spectacular view of Lake Washington also played into the design process.

Brick Tudor – Seattle

Unique possibilities unfolded as we worked with our client to resurrect this neglected home in Seattle’s Madrona neighborhood. Our design keeps the elegant period appropriate details with the addition of modern amenities.

Transitional Home Addition – Mukilteo

This Transitional style home, located in Mukilteo (a suburb of Seattle) is perched on a vista overlooking the pristine Puget Sound. Prior to the remodel, this home’s austere exterior was off-putting and the design took no advantage of the amazing view.

Tudor Dormer – Kirkland

Homes of a certain age can have a complicated history. This Kirkland, Tudor style home had sadly been converted to a duplex. The new home owners wanted to return the home to its former glory. Our design reclaimed areas that had been walled off and added a style appropriate dormer.

Federalist Home Addition – Seattle

This home’s location in Seattle’s Madison Park area made it practical to renovate this shy English Cottage and give it a more impressive presence in the neighborhood.

Northwest Contemporary – Edmonds

A structural change to this home’s front solarium wall integrated a new design to both the interior and exterior of the home.
