EASTSIDE MASTER BATHROOM                                                                                   2007 BIAW Award Winner!

2007 REX Award Winner!

A spectacular view of Mt. Rainer from the Master Bath was wasted on a small toilet/shower room in the Master Bath by not taking the view into account during the design of this 1980’s spec home.  While the Master Bath went through significant changes including moving most of the fixtures from one side of the bathroom to the other, all changes took place within the existing footprint of the space.  Custom-built walnut cabinetry, elegant granite vanity countertops with mosaic glass backsplash, thermostatically heated floor, and a jetted two person tub with marble tub deck and a very private view of the mountain make this a special master bath retreat worthy of even the most exclusive spa or getaway.

TREE DAMAGE TO TREMENDOUS                                                                                2008 BIAW Award Winner!

Two trees fell on this house in a windstorm, one on a corner and the other through the middle of the master bathroom, with a limb puncturing the bathtub.  The owners seized the opportunity by renovating the affected areas of the house and updating the bathroom with a whole new look.  The timeless beauty of travertine tiles is shown on the floor, tub deck and into the walk-in shower.  A furniture-style vanity was custom built in dark mahogany and topped with a travertine-slab.  Lighting and plumbing fixtures were carefully selected to complement the warm look of the travertine.  Sunlight bathes the room from a skylight and through a double casement window over the soaking tub.  The clean lines of the frameless shower enclosure add to the spaciousness of the room.
